Registration Review Notes for Schools1. IntroductionThe Application to Renew Registration Form contains basic information about your school for the Schools Registration Board’s review panel. Please complete and forward with review documentation. To ensure the Schools Registration Board that the school is meeting all requirements the Review Documentation Checklist and Notes (Information Sheet 2) will assist you to prepare and send/make available the range of documents that covers the Standards for Registration. These Standards are set out in the Schools Registration Board Handbook. The checklist lists the types of documents that can show how a school is meeting the Standards and when/where different types of documents are to be made available. Observations made by review panels over the last few years that will assist schools are included in General Advice on Planning for a Review (Information Sheet 3). 2. Preparation of DocumentationForwarding InformationPlease forward review information to the Schools Registration Board at least THREE WEEKS before the intended visit of the review panel. This enables the material to be copied and forwarded to review panel members in time for them to give the material sufficient consideration. Format of DocumentsMaterial should o be of uniform size (A4 is suitable), o be collated in the order of the Standards (3.1 – 3.12) and labelled accordingly, o be suitable to easily read and located information and to post, o have separate pages, especially if material is collated into book/booklet/folder form, (ie not bundled in groups into plastic sleeves/document protectors). [Panel members participate in reviews in addition to their (often many) other roles. Having to take time to remove pages from sleeves does not help them consider the material in an efficient or effective manner.] Policies not covered by the StandardsPolicies, such as Uniform Policy, are NOT to be forwarded to the Schools Registration Board. The school may wish to have them available for the review panel at the time of the visit. 3. Sample Review Visit Timetable
The above timetable is, of necessity, a sample only. Each school has its own routines and priorities and, where possible, panels will adapt their visit to accommodate these. Timetables for the visit will be finalised in discussions between the chair of the review panel and the principal (school leader) before the visit. For any further information please contact
