3.3 School FacilitiesSection 53 – (1) (c) the facilities to be provided at that school
The standard
requires that a new
school or an
existing school should be
able to demonstrate that the
facilities, apparatus and
materials are acceptable and appropriate and ensure the
safety of persons using the facilities.
The Board must be satisfied that the overall facilities are suitable for the educational programmes being offered by the school. In particular the Board must be satisfied that the appropriate legislative requirements are being met, that appropriate notional area guidelines* are satisfied, and that specific facilities are available appropriate to a school’s specific programmes.
