3.9 Impact on Other Schools

Section 53 – (1) (fc) the likely impact of the registration of the school on existing schools in the same geographical area

The standard requires that there be no significant impact of the registration of a new school on existing schools in the same geographical area.

The Board will determine impact on other government and non-government schools in the area. The determination will be based on information sought by the Registrar on receipt of an application for a new school. The information will be obtained from appropriate educational bodies, including:

  1. the relevant Education Department officers;

  2. the Catholic Education Office;

  3. the Association of Independent Schools, Tasmania.
