3.4 Minimum Number of Students to Attend a School

Section 53 – (1) (d) the minimum number of students to attend that school

The standard requires that a school include students from more than one family

There is no required minimum or maximum number of students to attend a school.

In making a determination in respect of the registration of any school the Board will take into account:

  1. the proposed curriculum and the nature of its delivery in relation to the proposed enrolment numbers;
  2. the likely ability of the school to provide the socialising aspects of education generally expected of a school; and
  3. the financial viability of the school, based upon the expected number of students to be enrolled and their capacity to contribute to the school’s educational program and ongoing financial situation through the provision of fees and fee maintenance.
