The standard
requires that the
school document and
implement policies and
processes for periodic
school self-review
and improvement.
3.12.1 Policies & Processes
Policies and processes require:
- significant information and data to be gathered and
carefully considered;
- ongoing involvement of and reporting to stakeholders;
- setting of improvement targets;
- explicit planning to achieve targets and
- school self-review to be carried out at least every
five years
3.12.2
Policy Development
In the development and re-evaluation of these policies
and processes schools would need to consider;
- providing opportunities for staff, parents, students
and other community members to fully engage in critical
reflection on achievements and identified areas of
concern;
- the annual and long-term planning needs to identify
priorities focusing on the quality of:
- learning and teaching,
- school leadership and culture,
- school management and planning, and
- school and community partnerships;
- developing processes of ongoing monitoring of
performance: and
- providing annual reporting to the community against
planned priorities ensuring accountability to the various
stakeholders
